The Lathums evoke summer days with ‘All My Life’

Wigan, UK-based band, The Lathums, has released their first new track since lockdown, titled ‘All My Life’.

The band, which comprises frontman Alex Moore, guitarist Scott Concepcion, drummer Ryan Durrans, bassist Johnny Cunliffe and drummer Ryan Durrans, shot the video for ‘All My Life’ on vintage Super 8 film, aiming to evoke the friendship and aimlessness of summer days.

The song was one of the first written by 20-year-old songwriter Moore, who has said that he was trying to make sense of the world when he wrote it.

During a #TimsTwitterListeningParty by Tim Burgess of The Charlatans for The Lathums last month (June), Moore tweeted: ‘I know life can be horrible but it can also be beautiful. I’m here so [people] don’t have to go through their tough times alone. I want to give people something I never had.’

The Lathums is now targeting a 2021 debut album release. It cites artists such as The Housemartins and The Ramones among its influences, and is finding fame due its catchy melodies and emotive songwriting, which include subjects such as the French Resistance and the materialistic age.

The band has also created a big buzz around its live shows, with support slots for Blossoms on their debut headlining tour. Tickets for their homecoming shows at Wigan Boulevard in February sold out in just one minute. Their fast-growing profile also caught the eye of Island Records, who signed them in March.
